Our History

Menucha Monuments Pty Ltd was established as a company in Sydney in 2009 under the Directorship of artist and stonemason, David Asher Brook, after first operating for two years as a partnership between David Brook and David Sebban to serve the Sydney Jewish community. In 2015 Hanna joined as a full time member of the Menucha Monuments team, to offer personalised support to families throughout the process of organising a memorial for their loved ones.

Over the years Menucha Monuments has gained a reputation for providing impeccable standards, superior service and competitive prices, and the business has grown steadily by word of mouth and personal recommendations.

In 2016 Menucha Monuments expanded their services to include heritage works and have to date completed many major restoration projects on important monuments of historical significance at Waverley, Rookwood, All Saints, St. John’s, Cobbity, Blackheath and other heritage listed Cemeteries.

Today Menucha Monuments Pty Ltd serves the broader Sydney community of many faiths and cultures, with cultural sensitivity and a deep respect for the spiritual and religious practices of all faiths.

We have since expanded to employ an exceptional team of Administrative and Grounds staff who each contribute to the smooth, timely and top quality operations of Menucha Monuments.

Our Team

David

Menucha Monuments director, David Brook, is an experienced stonemason with a special interest in monumental heritage restoration and conservation. He holds a Certificate III in Stonemasonry and a Supervisors Licence issued by the Department of Fair Trading. As senior consultant, David guides our clients, including families, councils and organisations, on design, materials and process throughout their journey with us. David employs his expertise and experience in traditional and modern masonry methods both on the ground leading our team, as well as in the assessment of heritage sites and preparing condition reports.

In addition to his role at Menucha Monuments, David is a professional artist with a history of exhibitions, commissions and awards. He draws on his artistic skills and his understanding of design and visual aesthetics in his stonemasonry practice. In his spare time, David enjoys painting, composing music, and reading about science and philosophy.
